Other studies have shown that increasing the amount of omega-3 intake can improve the lexical abilities and behavior of a child diagnosed with ADHD. Results of improved mental health of patients with Alzheimer’s disease and fish oil have shown consistent results for several years. The fatty acids contained in fish oil have proven to slow down the effects of brain atrophy for older adults. Omega-3 is popularly known to manage the rate of cognitive decline. For those who do not have Alzheimer’s disease may prevent its risks by taking fish oil. In the Philippines, neuropsychological tests of people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease have shown a slowdown in the cognitive decline of patients. Those who were at risk of Alzheimer’s disease showed no genetic risk factors after taking a certain amount of fish oil.
